After you walk out of the wash, you walk up and over a hill or two.
Here's the view from the first time you get to look back over your
shoulder at some height.
It gets a little warmer, or maybe we were just warming up ourselves
because the hike was starting to be a challenge. It was 63 ° at
this point.
The wash you walked up is the gray looking “trail” in the middle
of the picture. It fades off into the distance to the trail head.
The really faint straight gray line to the left of the wash are tracks
leading to the first tower that was on the US side (now collapsed).
That first tower is on the far end of the line; the first standing
tower near the trail is towards the closer end of the line. I assume
cars/people/horses created these tracks when they built the tramway.
It's an obvious physical marker because it's so straight; I used
it to guage our progress.
